This Stall At Yishun Serves 12 Different Types Of Putu-Piring With Unique Fillings Like Nutella And Sambal Ikan Bilis

Many of you may know Putu Piring as a traditional treat that contains rice flour, grated coconut and gula melaka. However, have you tried a Nutella-filled Putu Piring? Or a Durian-filled Putu Piring? At Chong Pang Putu Piring, you’re in for a treat as they serve up to 12 different types of this traditional treat!

Located right at the corner of Swee Sian Yuen Eating House, Chong Pang Putu Piring serves this traditional treat with a twist! Unlike your usual Gula Melaka filled putu piring, you’ll be able to find unique flavours such as Nutella, Kaya & even Sambal Ikan Bilis!

At first, you may be wondering whether such fillings will go well with the putu piring base since it is a treat usually made with rice flour, coconut and gula melaka. Well somehow, the people at Chong Pang Putu Piring have managed to take this traditional treat to the next level! The different fillings give this traditional treat a modern twist – yet still retaining its original flavours!

If you’re a traditional snack fan, the Gula Melaka Putu Piring ($1.50/3 pieces) hits the spot. The gula melaka was sweet and complemented the steamed rice cake and grated coconut! It also felt very light so it’s definitely a perfect tea-time snack!

The putu piring was filled with gula melaka and there was not a single empty spot! With each bite, you can taste all the flavours coming together. The gula melaka in the putu piring has both chunky and smooth bits in it, so there’s various textures going on as you enjoy this treat!

They are also popular for their Nutella Putu Piring ($2/3 pieces)! The hazelnut spread is filled evenly and with each bite you take, you’ll be able to taste the unique combination of rice flour, coconut and nutella! It is rather interesting because putu piring is usually filled with gula melaka. Similar to the gula melaka putu piring, the hazelnut spread has both chunky and smooth pieces which gives this treat an added texture!
