IKEA S’pore Introduces Meatless Meatballs Known As Plant Balls From 12th October Onwards

For the past few years, many spots around the world have started introducing plant-based diets. In recent months, Starbucks has also started introducing plant-based items. Collaborating with Impossibleâ„¢, Starbucks has introduced Rendang Pie, a plant-based alternative to the local treat. This time around, IKEA Singapore is jumping onto the bandwagon, too!

IKEA Singapore To Sell Plant Balls

Stepping into IKEA, it is pretty impossible to walk away without having a taste of their iconic meatballs. IKEA’s Swedish meatballs are normally served with a side of mash potatoes, broccoli, lingonberry jam, and a spoonful of gravy. Due to its simplicity, IKEA meatballs are loved by many. Its meatballs become a staple dish ordered by everyone around the world.

Now, meatless meatballs, also known as plant balls, will be introduced to its menu. The latest addition to its menu will be a sustainable alternative. Despite using plant-based ingredients, the furniture giant mentioned that the new addition to the menu is just as good as the iconic meatballs. Additionally, IKEA mentioned that the taste and texture are similar.

Available From 12th October 2020 Onwards

Priced at $6.50, plant balls will be sold at the same price as the meatballs. Without a doubt, it is a great method to reduce carbon footprints by introducing more plant-based items on the menu.
