Going for the smallest portion ($5), Ho Huat’s hokkien mee lies more on the wetter side. The noodles are cooked to perfection, giving the most amazing QQ texture. Each strand of noodles soaks up the amazing broth, giving a burst of flavour with each bite. Additionally, the chilli adds an incredible kick of spice with a touch of sweetness for a harmonious balance of flavours.

As for the ingredients, the prawns and sotong are really fresh, giving them a good bite. The sotong definitely stands out, having the most satisfying bouncy and chewy texture. As the Hokkien Mee is served without pork belly and pork lard, you could say it leans slightly on the healthier side as well. Unfortunately, Ho Huat’s Hokkien Mee lacks the wok hei most of us would expect. Nonetheless, it is overall still a tasty plate of noodles that’s certainly worth a try.
