At Yin Ji, their cloth-pulled chang fen comes stuffed with a generous portion of meat and vegetables. Each plate comes with simply one massive rice roll drenched in a light soy sauce. From the tender char siew pieces to the silky cloth-pulled rice roll wrappers, everything in Yin Ji is handmade to perfection.

Handmade Breakfast Options Include Congee And Noodles

Popular chang fen varieties here include the Char Siew and Egg, Fresh Shrimp, and Tender Pork options. The Egg Roll ($4.50) very much resembles an egg prata as it features the same flavourful ingredients, resulting in a slightly thicker and chewier version different from the usual smoothness of the Guangzhou-style rice rolls.

Be sure to add a generous scoop of their house-made chilli to your plates of chang fen to spice up your meal. One of their specialties, the fiery sauce is sure to give your rice rolls an additional savoury kick that even non-spice lovers will enjoy.

Another noteworthy dish is the Dumpling Noodle ($8.50). Made fresh in-store daily, each dumpling is fully stuffed with a meat mixture that’s mostly ground pork. Paired with springy noodles and garnished with spring onions, this soupy bowl is a delicious one-dish meal.

The lightly seasoned Boat Congee ($6.50) is the perfect dish to dig into for a break from the hustle and bustle of the morning rush. With slices of char siew, fish, pig’s skin, and You Tiao, this is a must-try dish at Yin Ji.

Head down to Yin Ji the next time you’re in town to enjoy yummy rice rolls, noodles, and congee dishes before, during, or after work!
