Sin Hoe Huat Cafe is a family-run stall at Sembawang Hills Food Centre and has been around since 1968! The current owners are a mother-and-son duo, Ashton & Rebecca, the third-generation owners. Serving up an extensive menu of toasts with spreads of delectable kaya and peanut butter, pair it with their soft-boiled eggs and hot beverages for the ultimate comfort breakfast.

What’s unique about this stall is that they actually sous vide their soft-boiled eggs, giving a unique touch to them. It’s certainly something you don’t see very often in your typical soft-boiled eggs!

The Kaya Thick Toast Set ($3.10) is served with fluffy toasted bread, two soft-boiled eggs, and a hot beverage of your choice. The bread is spread with a generous layer of sweet and fragrant kaya that has more of an eggy taste rather than your usual coconut.

Additionally, it is sweeter than your typical kaya spread which is perfect for those with sweet tooths. The kopi is the ultimate beverage to perk you up in the morning with its sweetness and delightful hint of bitterness that blends together perfectly.

The sous vide eggs are perfectly cooked, with them being much plumper and firmer than your usual soft-boiled eggs. Be sure to enjoy this classic breakfast favourite with some dark soy sauce and white pepper.

For those who have yet to try dipping their kaya toast into the eggs, you have seriously been missing out. Each bite gives you a beautiful mix of sweet and savoury, with the bread being soft yet still retaining its fluffiness. A delicious pairing that you should definitely give a try!
