This Elderly Couple’s Stall At Aljunied Since 1958 Is Still Serving Fish Soup For Only $3

A hidden gem nestled in Geylang East Market and Food Centre, Ng Soon Kee Fish Porridge & Braised Duck’s long-standing history dates back to as early as 1958 and is run by an elderly couple.

Four dishes are on the menu, and all are priced affordably, starting from as low as $3. The star of the show is most definitely their Sliced Fish Soup.

Customers can choose a bowl of rice or porridge to pair with the fragrant broth. Swimming in a flavourful broth that has been boiled for hours, the thick slices of horse mackerel are fresh and tender. The soup also comes with your preferred cut of fish, with fish roe and fish head options on offer.

With good food comes snaking queues! Do take note that waiting times at the stall can sometimes stretch up to over an hour so be sure to swing by during non-peak periods if you want to avoid the queue.
