Hi, friends! With everything that’s still going on in the world, it takes us by no surprise that many huge celebrations and events are affected. Even next year’s Chinese New Year will see a different side of Chinatown like never before. So, it’s safe to say that the countdown for 2021 is scratched off our calendar. However, not all is gloomy as this new event happening at Marina Bay might hype you up for the month of December!
Watch Out For The Amazing Light Show At Marina Bay
Starting from tomorrow onwards, just head on over to the Marina Bay for a dazzling light display that has 60 light beams projecting from The Promontory. Happening from 8PM to 10:30PM, a 3-minute animated light sequence will play every 15 minutes! Don’t worry about missing out on it because you can catch the light show every single day for the entire month of December!
The ‘Shine a Light’ event will also (definitely) be happening on the 31st December, where the light show will be extended to 11:45PM instead. So, mark your calendars and get a cozy spot on Marina Bay (while maintaining social distancing)! This formation of light rays projected into the sky symbolises Singapore’s collective strength, as we support one another through these difficult times
If you didn’t already know, the yearly highlight of fireworks display at Marina Bay on New Year’s Eve have been cancelled for the year. Hence, in order to minimise crowds and ensure everyone’s safety, the ‘Shine a Light’ event will be ongoing for the whole month. However, do note that in the event of heavy rains and/or lightning strike, the light display will be halted and resume only when the weather conditions are better.
