9 NEW Food Spots To Try Out This February!

1. Moonstone

Located along Amoy Street, Moonstone surely has much to live up to as they’re surrounded by famous dining spots. They serve up a modern take on Indonesian food, incorporating traditional ingredients and flavours in less-traditional methods. Their food, while delicious, is also affordable – especially for CBD area! The Bakmi Ayam Mason, which includes fresh, springy noodles, braised minced chicken and shiitake mushrooms, fried tofu skin and a perfectly wobbly Onsen Tamago, is available for only $10 on their Lunch Menu!

They also have many other delectable options, including a personal take on Indomie, rice bowl options and burger dishes as well. Sounds like a worthy addition to the lunch break list for all CBD-dwellers!

2. Korio

A hole-in-the-wall spot along CBD, Korio is a newly-opened donut and sandwich joint that serves up some delicious handmade goodies for on-the-go snacking. With a spread of seven donut flavours to choose from, it may take more than one visit to determine a favourite. All the donuts are handmade from scratch each morning, ensuring the softest, fluffiest donuts every time.

As for their savoury menu items, they have a rotation of sandwich specials each day, so be sure to check what’s on the menu before heading down! Their signature Grilled Cheese is available daily, and comes highly recommended. Delightfully hearty and filling for only $8, the generously-stuffed sandwich is great value for its price!

3. Chow Zan Dessert

Located centrally in the Bugis area, Chow Zan Dessert is a new dessert spot specialising in both traditional Chinese and local desserts. With classics like Mango Sago and Gingko Barley Beancurd, this place is a good escape from all the artsy, over-priced modern desserts and cafes nowadays. Their specialty dessert is White Chendol, which comes with gula melaka, coconut milk and coconut jelly. It’s a must-try, because it tastes vastly different from the normal chendol that we’re used to.

Be sure to pay Chow Zan Dessert a visit for a taste of good-old local nostalgia!

From the famouse IRVINS brand, IRVINS Messy Kitchen is a newly-opened concept at Wisma Atria serving up yummy to-go bowls with both noodle and rice options. Their Messy Bowls come in Salted Egg and Truffle flavours, with a variety of protein options like chicken and prawns.

Additionally, Messy Kitchen recommends to add in your sauce and shake the bowls right before consumption, to get an even distribution of goodies in each bite!

5. Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato

Choose from a variety of meat sets, grill them to perfection and enjoy with rice, soup and sides. With a minimalist, steel-and-grey themed interior, Lucid is an interesting cafe to visit this February. The space boasts grey cement flooring, cold metal and marble furniture and monochromatic cutlery. Serving freshly-brewed coffee and handmade pastries, this cafe is a great spot for the enjoying the enticing aroma of caffeine while munching on their signature Banana Bread. Grab some friends and spend an afternoon in this industrial-chic cafe to unwind!

Do note that they will be closed for the first week of February for some minor renovation works.
