Something quirky and humourous about Ju Xing is that they actually have the screaming chicken toys hanging in front of the stall instead of real chickens. Now that’s something you don’t see every day. Although they only serve white Hainanese chicken rice, roasted chicken rice lovers can rest assured this will still be one satisfying meal. Additionally, their chicken rice starts at an affordable price of only $3.50, a rare price point to find nowadays amidst the rising costs of ingredients.

Unlike your typical chicken rice, Ju Xing serves theirs ($3.50) with a generous bowl of soup and bean sprouts and achar, instead of your plain old slices of cucumber. The rice is incredibly fluffy and flavourful without being too oily, making each bite seriously addictive. As for the boneless chicken slices, the skin is really smooth while the meat is pretty tender and juicy.
The chilli is zesty and has the perfect amount of spice with the ginger helping to cut through some of that heat. Be sure to pair this amazing combination with the chicken for a delightful burst of flavours. As for the achar, it has a nice crunch and adds a good touch of acidity, making it a refreshing palate cleanser.
