Ingredients:

  • 1L of packaged Soya Milk (with sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Agar-agar powder

Step 1

Add in agar-agar powder into a cup of soy milk, then mix till the powder dissolves completely.

Step 2

Add in the rest of the soy milk into a pot & cook it in low heat.

Step 3

As the soy milk in the pot becomes warmer, pour in the mixture from Step 1.

Continue stirring the pot of mixture until tiny bubbles start appearing. Proceed to cook under low heat for another 1 minute.

Step 5

Slowly pour in mixture into your preferred container using a strainer. Skim off bubbles from the top to make sure there’s no bubbles at all.

Step 6

Wait for the pudding mixture to cool down to room temperature before placing it in the fridge. After 3 to 4 hours, your very own soy pudding is now ready!

Here’s another variation of soya pudding you can try out at home. Although this calls for a few more ingredients, you can make the pudding according to the flavour of fruit bean curd pudding powder you have! You can even have a durian flavoured soya pudding, if that’s your cup of tea.

Ingredients:

  • 3L of water
  • 100g of sugar
  • 1 can (400ml) of condensed milk
  • 1 packet of fruit bean curd pudding powder (your preferred fruit flavour)

Step 1

Pour in the water, sugar and condensed milk into a pot and put to boil.

Step 2

After it starts boiling, remove the pot from heat. Add in the fruit bean curd pudding powder and stir for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Pour in the pudding mixture into a container or mould of your choice.

Step 4

Leave it in the fridge to set for 2 hours.

If you’re thinking it’s lacking a little something to your pudding, then maybe you’re right. For everyone with a sweet-tooth, it certainly won’t be complete a splash of sugar syrup. You can easily whip up a pot of Gula Melaka syrup or do it the original way – with Ginger Syrup!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of water (180ml)
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 inch of ginger (smashed)

Step 1

Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and cook it over medium heat. Stir it until the sugar dissolves.

Step 2

After that, just turn off heat and remove the ginger. Let it cool down for a bit before adding it to your soy pudding.
