Da Ji Hainanese Chicken Rice is located at Toa Payoh Lorong 5 Food Centre and is a popular dinner spot among the Toa Payoh residents. Don’t be surprised by the long queue, but rather when there isn’t one. The stall is run by a two-man team, where the lady boss is the queen of multitasking. She takes the orders, scoops the rice onto the plate, and is the only one frying the chicken wings.

For a more substantial meal, order the Famous Fried Chicken Wing Rice ($3.50) for some carbs to fill you up. The fried chicken wings definitely do not disappoint. Fried to a crispy golden brown, the chicken is seasoned well and every bite explodes with flavour. On top of that, the chicken is cooked well, making the meat delightfully tender and extremely juicy. To help ease the guilt, the chicken isn’t oily at all. Time for less worrying and more eating!

Just when you thought the dish couldn’t get any tastier, be sure to dip the chicken wing into the addictive chilli sauce. Elevating the flavours of the wings, the chilli also gives it a nice spicy kick. If you can’t get enough of the chicken wings, which we’re pretty certain of, you can order them ala carte for $1.50 each.

Try Da Ji Hainanese Chicken Rice Today!

Besides their fried chicken wing rice, Da Ji also serves your regular steamed chicken rice. Do note they only open at 6.30pm in the evenings and queues can start to form even before they open. Be sure to head down early if you want a chance to try this amazing dish! Hurry down today!
