Taiwan Lu Rou Fan At Golden Mile
The pork is braised for hours in a pot mixed with herbs, spices, and wines. The result is tender and succulent pork that melts in your mouth with every bite! What’s unique about Braise 卤之家 is that they also serve their Lu Rou Fan with different cuts of pork such as pork ribs and pork cheeks. On top of that, they even have toppings you don’t usually see with this dish such as ajitsuke tamago and shitake mushrooms. A pretty unique menu offering if you ask me!

The Braised Pork Belly Set ($5) comes with fluffy white rice topped with a generous amount of mouth-watering pork belly. Just the sight of the pork will make you salivate! The pork belly has the perfect layer of fats and bursts in flavour with every bite! Coupled with the gravy-soaked rice, every bite is simply heavenly! The dish is topped with an array of toppings including black fungus, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, tau pok, vegetables and tamago. A pretty value-for-money meal indeed!
Some of their sides stand out just as much as the pork belly! The ajitsuke tamago is definitely one to look out for! Unlike the usual hard-boiled egg you would usually get, the egg served here is similar to the ones you’ll find in ramen. All of the tamago are made in-house with sake and soy sauce, giving you the perfect balance of sweet and savoury! Definitely a must-try dish!
