The owner, Mr Suhari, is very much a superhero on his own! In his youth, he was an avid traveller- learning various cuisines from around the world! Reminiscent of Batman! He has accumulated 10 years of experience in the culinary world, making him well versed in this chaotic industry! This restaurant also boasts an ever-changing menu- constantly adapting to the times to meet customer satisfaction! The restaurant itself was a place he and his wife inherited, and with his love of comics, completely took as his own!

The restaurant itself exudes warmth and a homely vibe. The comics and action figures that decorate the walls take you back to your childhood! The moment you take your seat and prepare to order, you feel a youthful glee that envelops you. With scrumptious food mixed with a bit of nostalgia, you get an outstanding dining experience! Also, the comforting feeling of the restaurant translates into the food! Not only is it beautiful, but it is also extremely delicious!

The Shakehouse signature dish is what you see before you. The Grilled Calamari ($9.90) is a crowd favourite. According to Mr Suhari, this dish often runs out before the day has ended! This dish features perfectly grilled calamari, topped with a creamy garlic cream sauce, with three lightly toasted bread.

This dish is amazing. The calamari is tender and delicate, the sauce is perfectly seasoned with lots of garlic flavour and the toast acts as a perfect delivery system of all those flavours! This dish has been one of the only permanent dishes on their menu, and for good reason!

Another crowd favourite is their Spicy Chicken Ramen Basah ($12.90). It is an extremely rich, savoury and spicy dish that gets tastier with each bite! It is a Japanese style dish with a few Malay influences! The noodles are creamy and spicy, cooked in a creamy broth with Chilli Padi added to it. It is then topped with a crispy and juicy Chicken Katsu with a perfect soft-boiled egg!

The noodles were nice and chewy and the broth was cheesy and rich! The chicken had an amazing crunch as well as being extremely juicy! Overall this dish is very rich and spicy! Despite having a lot of creamy and rich components, this dish is surprisingly balanced! The Chilli Padi packs a punch so do be careful if you can’t tolerate your heat!

Last but not least, their Traditional Beef Carbonara ($18.90). Unlike a lot of Carbonaras, you find in Singapore, this version is authentic to its original recipe! The noodles are perfectly Al Dente, and the sauce is creamy and yet, surprisingly light! Also, the dish is loaded generously with black pepper, adding spice and rounding out the dish. The dish overall is also perfectly balanced and a must-try!
