The Travelling Spoon Releases Four New Branded Ready-To-Eat Local Favourites (Prawn Noodle Soup, Char Siew Chicken Rice & More) At 7-Eleven Islandwide

The Travelling Spoon once again collaborates with four renowned brands – Beach Road Prawn Noodle House, My Kampung, Killiney, and Rumah Makan Minang to launch new delectable RTE local delights like Prawn Noodle Soup, Char Siew Chicken Rice, Laksa and Ayam Belado with Nasi Kuning. Now available at all 7-Eleven stores!

Delve into Culinary Journeys: Explore Local Delights from The Travelling Spoon Now at 7-Eleven!

1.  Beach Road Prawn Noodle House – Prawn Noodle Soup

Known as one of the best Prawn Noodle brands in Singapore, this legendary stall was first opened in the 1920s by Mr Lee Pee Tuan. They relocated to a coffee shop at Haji Lane along Beach Road in the 1970s, where the famous name “Beach Road Prawn Noodle” was derived from.

Now run by the third and fourth generation owners, the near century-old Lee family recipe continues to live on, drawing crowds from all over the island daily to the current location at 370 East Coast Road.

Together with Beach Road Prawn Noodle House, The Travelling Spoon created a Halal version of their crowd-favourite Prawn Noodle Soup.

This dish is a combination of yellow noodles and rice vermicelli, served with fresh prawns and chicken slices. The flavourful prawn and chicken broth made from hours of simmering, explodes with umami in your mouth. Each sip is simply delicious and comforting, perfect for any rainy day.  

2. Killiney – Traditional Laksa

Founded in 1919, Killiney Kopitiam first started out serving toast and beverages, which were popular among locals. The menu has since expanded, offering a wide array of local delicacies for all to indulge in.

A popular hawker dish among Singaporeans, The Travelling Spoon’s Killiney Laksa RTE features a spicy, creamy, coconut milk-based broth, combined with rice vermicelli, shrimp, taupok, fishcake, and quail egg.

The gravy is fragrant and robust, with a prominent taste of coconut milk that will definitely hit the spot for laksa lovers. 

3. My Kampung- Chicken Char Siew with Fragrant Rice

A growing and popular Halal food court in Singapore, My Kampung by Yew Kee Group specialises in Roasted Chicken Rice and homemade Chicken Char Siew. 

My Kampung was established in 2017 to celebrate Mr Seah Boon Lock, founder of Yew Kee Group, hawkerpreneurship and the group’s successes since its humble beginnings in Nee Soon Kampung more than 50 years ago in 1961. This Halal chicken rice and food court brand aims to share the signature flavours and Kampung spirit of the Yew Kee Group with more Singaporeans.

The succulent slices of chicken char siew paired with the sweet-savoury sauce made for a heavenly treat when enjoyed with the plump fragrant chicken rice.

4.   Rumah Makan Minang- Ayam Belado with Nasi Kuning

A multi-generational restaurant specialising in Indonesian Minangkabau cuisine, locals and tourists have been flocking to Rumah Makan Minang in Kampung Glam since 1954 for a taste of their famed Nasi Padang and Beef Rendang.

The Ayam Belado with Nasi Kuning is served with tender-baked spiced chicken that’s paired with Minang’s signature sambal belado.
