If you haven’t heard of it yet, the Pink Supermoon will hit us tomorrow! Sadly, our current circumstance encourages us to stop going outside at the moment. But hey, don’t scratch it out of your to-do list yet. Because there are few methods that you can try in order to witness this historical lunar event in the comforts of your own home. For those that are staying alone right now, it might just cure your loneliness.
The Biggest And Best Supermoon Of 2020
A supermoon happens when the full moon moved the closest to the earth in its orbit. Thus making it look 14% larger and brighter than usual. Regrettably, it won’t actually be pink. The name ‘pink’ came from the spring blossom of pink phlox flowers that usually accompanies April’s full moon in the US. The supermoon will actually glow in a bright golden hue. It is said to be the biggest Supermoon this year compared to the other 3 supermoons.
When To See The Pink Supermoon
Just get all cozied up at your balcony or by your window this Wednesday, 8 April 2020. The best time to witness the supermoon in Singapore is at 10.35 am. Make sure that you are facing the eastward side as the moon will mosey up that direction. If you missed it the first time, don’t worry! ‘Cause it will appear again 12 hours later on the west side.
Do know that this will be a 20-minute gaze. The moon will look BIG since it is on the horizon. Comparing the moon with your surroundings will definitely put you in trance. Just get your camera ready and enjoy it with your loved ones. If you live in a tall building, then you are definitely getting the upper hand at this. Just a little something to lift the mood of staying home for the ‘circuit breaker’.
