The Pineapple Tart and Kaya Toast are certainly traditional yet unique gelato flavours we don’t see very often. The kaya toast gelato tastes exactly like what you would expect it to be, and it’s simply amazing! The kaya flavour comes through beautifully, with the taste of the butter adding a pleasant savouriness and balance to the sweetness! Pair it with the crispy and fluffy waffle, and it’s as if you’re having kaya toast itself! Even on its own, the waffle has a good amount of flavour and the drizzle of butterscotch makes it even tastier!

The Ong Lai Gelato, also known as the Pineapple Tart Gelato, has savoury bits that taste similar to the crust of the actual tart. Additionally, it also has chunks of pineapple jam, giving an added burst of sweetness! As the gelato only tastes like pineapple tart when you bite into the pineapple jam, it was a bit of a letdown. Interestingly enough, it also has an aftertaste reminiscent of durian, which might not appeal to some. Although it doesn’t taste identical to the traditional pineapple tart, it is still an interesting take on the beloved treat and is certainly still worth a try!

Up next are the Smoked Milk and Lemon Curd Speculoos, which you should definitely check out! The smoked milk has an incredible charred burnt taste that hits you immediately, followed by the sweetness of the milk! The gelato is really creamy and has the perfect balance of flavours, with the smokiness leaving a pleasant aftertaste! It’s truly a one-of-a-kind gelato that you should seriously give a try when you’re there!

For those who aren’t really sweet tooths, the Lemon Curd Speculoos is an ideal flavour to go for! Unlike most speculoos-flavoured ice creams, the sweetness here takes a backseat, allowing the tanginess of the lemon curd to shine through in each bite! The lemon curd has flavour profiles similar to lemon cheesecake, with its tanginess bringing a harmonious balance to the sweetness of the gelato! Additionally, there are speculoos bits for added texture, giving a pleasant contrast of creaminess and crunch!
