Since 2015, Park Bench Deli has been drawing endless crowds for its scrumptious sandwiches and continues to remain one of the most popular sandwich shops in Singapore. Their concept shop, ONDA by PBD at Clarke Quay is a quick-service restaurant, serving up a small and concise menu of their popular Cubano sandwiches, house beef hot dogs, and Chicarrone!

For those looking for a beverage to pair with your meal, there’s an all-natural wine list, as well as Cuban-style espresso and cafe con leche to enjoy! The design of the shop is lighthearted and quirky, with endearingly cheesy neon lighting and retro pink tiles for a laid-back Bodega vibe. A quaint and chill place that’s perfect for a quick and satisfying bite!

If you’re unsure of what to get, their crowd-favourite Cubano ($16.50) would be a good one to start with! Sink your teeth into a tasty sandwich stuffed with slices of house-cured sweet ham, lechon, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard! The soft roll is nicely toasted, with the thick cut of meats being really tender and juicy. Additionally, the melted cheese gives it a beautiful cheese pull that’s perfect for all your Insta-worthy pics!

Flavourwise, the cheese complements the savoury meats perfectly, with the pickles and mustard adding a pleasant tang while cutting through the richness of the filling! Overall, the sandwich could use a little more depth of flavour but nonetheless, it’s still pretty yummy!

If you’re not a fan of sandwiches or looking for something on the lighter side, why not go for their Hot Dog ($12)! Enjoy a house-smoked beef frank topped with manchego mayo and pickled peppers tucked in a fluffy brioche bun! The juicy beef frank gives each bite an amazing smoky flavour, while the tanginess of the pickled peppers balances out the meaty flavours perfectly! One downside, however, is that the manchego mayo lacks the cheesiness, with its grainy texture being the most prominent. It might not be the best hot dog, but it’s definitely one of the tastier ones out there!
