Nyonya Chendol At Bukit Timah Has Fun Toppings

Located in Bukit Timah Market & Food Centre, Nyonya Chendol has been churning out delicious chendol for a very long time. For many locals, it is always top three on their list for a good bowl of chendol. Although it appears to be a simple bowl of nyonya chendol, many swoons over this affordable traditional dessert. Here’s why every bowl is a special bowl.

It all starts with nicely shaved ice. You know, the type of shaved ice that feels like snow. Then, it is added with a good amount of fresh coconut milk, before topping it off with aromatic gula melaka. In all honestly, this simple combination is already addictive. Cold, fresh, and aromatic – all at once! Chendol wouldn’t be complete without some actual chendol. At Nyonya Chendol, these worm-like jellies are longer than usual.

The original version ($2) comes with only chendol. Additional toppings include red beans ($2.50), sweet corn ($2.50), and also D24 durian paste ($3.50). A great combination would be chendol, red bean, and sweet corn. The palatable combination is a true experience with different tastes and textures. Durian enthusiasts will be thrilled to try D24 durian paste. Shapes like a scoop of ice-cream, it sits atop of the shaved ice like a true king.
