Simply approach the stall and you’ll immediately notice the gigantic stainless steel pot at the storefront. Instead of filling the pot with mutton, the meat is actually taken out during the cooking process to ensure it remains tender and perfectly cooked.
For those who want a mix of various cuts, their signature Sup Campur ($13) is the one to go for. Served with mutton meat, ribs, tripe, and tulang (bone marrow), you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.
The soup is thick and robust, with each sip bursting with dimensions of flavour and a hint of spice to give an added oomph to the soup. It isn’t too oily and the mutton flavour isn’t too overpowering as well, making it palatable for all.
The ribs and meat are tender while the tulang has plenty of gelatinous tissue to enjoy. Additionally, the tripe has a pleasant chewiness to it. What makes them stand out is that they aren’t gamey as well.
For the perfect pairing, the bread ($1) soaks up the soup beautifully and becomes slightly soggy, giving a delightful contrast of textures to its crispy edge. Be sure to mop up every last drop of the delicious soup!
