TL;DR
- Daiso Singapore is reopening in Phase 2!
- All Daiso and Threepy stores had previously been closed due to the circuit breaker.
- Measures have been put in place to ensure patrons’ safety.
Phase 2 is starting tomorrow, and we couldn’t be more excited about finally meeting our friends and extended family again! But you know what else we’re also looking forward to? Shops reopening. This is just to say that our favourite two-dollar store is reopening its doors starting tomorrow, and we’re thrilled!
That’s right, people! Daiso Singapore is back in business!
Your Favourite $2 Store is Back
Daiso is our go-to for everything from socks to stationery, so of course, we’re thrilled that it’s back in business!
Despite the reopening, though, they are remaining cautious, urging customers to wear masks and follow the safety distancing rules. “Stay safe, stay healthy and Happy Shopping!” They wrote in an Instagram post, tagging it “#wewillgetthroughthis”.
Circuit Breaker Mix-Up
In April, Daiso Singapore announced that five of its stores would continue to operate despite the circuit breaker measures. These stores were its outlets at Tiong Bahru Plaza, Waterway Point, IMM, Plaza Singapura and Square 2.
However, they took back the statement hours after they posted it, closing the stores down after mixed customer feedback revealed the general public to be less supportive than anticipated.
“We understand that this is a critical period for Singapore and will comply with the measures,” they said.
Well, at least those times are over – from tomorrow, you can shop at your favourite two-dollar store again! Whether it’s stationery or kitchen supplies (or Japanese snacks), you’ll be able to buy them once more when the shutters lift at 10am. We’re excited! Are you?
