Buta Kin offers a wide array of dishes, ranging from over five types of ramen/udon to four different types of Japanese curry dishes. With most of their items being less than six dollars, it’s certainly a bang for your buck. They are definitely one of the cheapest ramen stalls you can find in Singapore.

The Special Tonkotsu Ramen ($8) is served with a generous portion of noodles, along with three slices of pork belly, black fungus, half-boiled egg and seaweed. The soup has an incredible pork flavour while still being on the lighter side, making every sip extremely comforting and perfect for any rainy day. The noodles are slightly thinner as compared to your typical ramen noodles, yet are still pleasantly al dente.

The pork slices are definitely the highlight of the dish, with every succulent slice bursting with flavour. They are thicker than your usual ones, making them more substantial as well. Additionally, they are incredibly tender and the fats melt beautifully with each bite. The half-boiled egg adds a touch of creaminess but is unfortunately pretty bland. Overall, it’s still a rather tasty dish that’s certainly worth every dollar!
