In Singapore, you are likely to find a Nasi Briyani stall at any hawker centre. As you go through them, however, you will find many are mediocre and don’t meet your expectations. This stall, however, is probably going to exceed it! At Briyani by Hamidah Bi, you will get a fantastic plate of Nasi Briyani with an extremely tender Mutton! This hidden gem is definitely a must-try.
Stellar Nasi Briyani At Circuit Road
You may have seen this stall in several YouTube videos. You’d be surprised that despite the publicity, not many people know about this spot. It is unfortunate as they are by far one of the best Nasi Briyani in Singapore! The people behind the stall are warm and welcoming, they will ask you for anything you’d want to add or remove from your dish. Also, they also serve their dishes at breakneck speeds, you will get your plate within minutes!
They start their prep with Mutton. To get their signature tenderness and to infuse all the flavours, the mutton is stewed low and slow in a pot along with spices for what seems like hours! Their patience will result in soft, tender mutton that you can cut with a spoon. Also, they cook the rice with a load of spices, as well as, the perfect consistency.
Melt-In-Your-Mouth Tender Mutton Steak
There’s a reason why they only serve variations of this dish. It is a time-consuming process to prep and ensures quality. This means they can’t afford to have any varieties in terms of menu items. However, this dish alone is more than enough to satisfy. After hours of cooking and prepping ingredients, you will get yourselves a nice plate of Nasi Briyani, filled with rice and meat!
Their Mutton Nasi Briyani ($6.50) is a staple at Circuit Road Hawker Centre. You get flavourful, tender and juicy mutton, nicely separated seasoned rice, and a nice side of curry. Also, you can’t forget the pickled cucumbers. Each bite is filled with spices and meaty goodness. However, combining every component for that one glorious bite and you’ll never taste anything quite like that again.
