618 Sim Carrot Cake At Yishun Is A Best Kept Secret

Tucked in a corner of Yishun, 618 Sim Carrot Cake makes carrot cake like no other. Currently operated by the second generation of the family, the owner had learned the skills to make the perfect plate of carrot cake from his mother. Back in the day, they used to make black and white carrot cakes, a signature finding in Singapore, but now they are focusing on white carrot cakes only.

The rice cakes are perfectly scrambled together with an omelette. Just like any good carrot cake, the edge of the carrot cake is crispy, and it is soft on the inside. The simple dish is flavourful as it is combined with garlic, preserved radish, and a mixture of seasoning. To serve, 618 Sim Carrot Cake completes the dish with more preserved radish! Yes, please.

It is a must to add preserved radish on every bite! Apart from their signature carrot cake, another great option to try is carrot cake with prawns. The prawns are diced into smaller pieces, so you will be able to munch pieces of prawns on every bite. Although carrot cake is a fried-food, rest assured that it is not oily. A plate of signature carrot cake will cost $4, whereas a plate of carrot cake with prawns is $5.80.
