54 S’pore Buildings & Landmarks Lighting Up In Blue From Mar 18 To 22 To Promote Water Sustainability

For those heading down into town this weekend in the evenings, 54 prominent buildings and landmarks across the island will be lighting up in blue from Mar 18 to 22 as part of national water agency PUB’s water conservation campaign “Make Every Drop Count”. Additionally, shoppers can also enjoy more than 70 deals offered by participating retailers!

 “City Turns Blue” Event On Mar 22

The light-up event, called “City Turns Blue”, also commemorates World Water Day which falls on Mar 22.

Feast your eyes on stunning blue-themed hues on the facades of office buildings and shopping malls in the CBD such as:

For those who aren’t heading into town, you can also check out these participating heartland buildings as well:

  • Our Tampines Hub (Tampines)
  • Century Square (Tampines)
  • Northpoint City (Yishun)
  • Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (Yishun)
  • Singapore Sports Hub (Kallang)

PUB has stated that the buidlings will not incurr any extra expenditure of electricity, but will be simply turning their existing lights blue.

To support the campaign, you can share your photos of the light-up on social media with the hashtags #GoBlue4SG and #MakeEveryDropCount.

Blue Deals Also Available!

The “Make Every Drop Count” campaign will also feature more than 70 amazing deals, ranging from lifestyle to F&B and electronics.

Shaped into water droplets, Dunkin Donuts will be selling these blueberry donuts to help promote water sustainability from Mar 17 to 22.

To celebrate World Water Day, Waterfall Lounge at Furama Riverfront will be launching a series of blue-themed cocktails and mocktails from Mar 20 to 24.

PUB hopes that through these efforts,  individuals and businesses will be encouraged to reduce their water consumption. “Just with simple water-saving actions, we can all come together to ensure a sustainable future for our earth, our home,” they stated.
