This is definitely a go-to spot if you’re looking for some incredible roasted meats. Opened in 2016, Roast Paradise has since garnered a huge cult following. Specializing in Char Siew, it is first cooked in a drum under charcoal for three hours. It is then coated with a sweet sauce to give it a beautiful layer of caramelization. The result is a sweet-salty and succulent char siew that leaves you wanting more!

The Char Siew is cooked Kuala Lumpur style, meaning fattier cuts of meats are used and it’s roasted for a longer period of time. This gives it a perfectly caramelised and smoky exterior with an absolutely tender interior. Roast Paradise also offers delectable Roasted Pork, with an amazing crisp crackling. Definitely a must-try too!

With waiting times of at least 20 minutes during lunch hour, there’s no doubt that Dong Ji serves up a tasty plate of Char Kway Teow. With more than 40 years of experience, the owner fries each plate of kway teow individually to ensure quality and consistency. Reminiscent of Penang char kway teow, Dong Ji’s is on the drier side and is less sweet as compared to our Singapore version. Each plate is packed with ingredients, delivering flavours of spice, smokiness, and eggy goodness.
