Muffintory is a new member of Lau Pa Sat’s huge variety of food! While there are a few dessert spots there, Muffintory ranks as one of the best! The spot is located in a quaint corner, facing the busy street of Raffles Place. You get to look up at the beautiful buildings surrounding you as you enjoy your decadent muffins. The staff working there are also pleasant and welcoming, happy to give you recommendations on what muffin suits you best!

Unlike other muffins you may find in Singapore, they use a rather unique ingredient/method of cooking in their muffins! Sourdough, for those of you who aren’t aware, is a fermented dough that is used to leaven bread- as well as add a tanginess to the pastry. Add it into muffins and you get two amazing effects- a lighter, softer texture and a more balanced flavour. This alone definitely sets them apart from your regular muffins!

Four Different Flavours Of Sourdough Muffins

The Kookie ($2.60) is a crowd favourite. Why you may ask? It has Oreos! The muffin top is crunchy and has many pieces of chocolate chip scattered across it. The inside of the muffin is light, fluffy and incredibly soft! This muffin is a texture sensation and an all-around favourite to cater to everyone’s cravings!

The Mika ($2.60) is a little niche. While it’s not for everyone, matcha lovers will enjoy this treat! This muffin features a mellow matcha flavour, toasted almonds and white chocolate chips. The flavours are mended in perfect unison. The matcha is mellow and light, the almonds add a light crunch and the white chocolate chips add creaminess and sweetness. Altogether, it is the perfect muffin to enjoy with a nice cup of tea!

The Casper ($2) is a crunchy, rich and classic flavour! It is your classic Chocolate Chip muffin with a twist. Aside from your regular chocolate chip, the cranberry almonds help enhance the chocolate flavour! The cranberry adds a bit of freshness that makes you want to keep eating this muffin!

And last, but certainly not least, the Chip-O-Nana ($2.60). Now it might seem odd, but their signature Double Chocolate Muffin along with a sweet and soft banana stuffed inside it, is a match made in heaven! Rich chocolate flavour along with the creamy banana centre- this is a muffin you want hot out of the oven!
