Shu Heng Bi Tai Mak has been in operations since December 2020 and continues to draw snaking long queues to this day. Operated by a husband-and-wife duo, preparations start in the wee hours of the morning before the first wave of customers arrive as soon as they open at 7am! Practically every component, right down to the carefully sliced chilli padi, is handmade and freshly cooked every day. The result is an irresistible bowl of Bi Tai Mak that customers can’t get enough of!

Shu Heng’s Bi Tai Mak ($3) features a thick and starchy gravy that coats the rice noodles beautifully, giving every slurp an amazing burst of flavour! The gravy brings a pleasant mix of sweet and savoury, with the chewy and tender noodles pairing perfectly with it. Not only that, the dish comes with an array of ingredients like mushrooms, hae bi, minced pork, salted fish, fried shallots and green onions, bringing additional dimensions of flavour to the dish. Be sure to have a scoop of everything together to enjoy the most amazing burst of umami! Seriously delicious! For those who love their spice, be sure to add their chilli for that extra oomph to your dish!

For those who aren’t really fans of soup, don’t worry they have the dry version which is seriously delicious as well! This version comes with a generous amount of minced meat, mushrooms, fishcakes which is mixed with in-house sauce, chilli and lard. Every spoonful brings you a heavenly mix of flavours that will have you wanting more! Be it the soup or dry version, both are delectable comforting dishes that are definitely a must-try!
