Sakura Matsuri Is Happening At Gardens By The Bay
If you ever dream of going to Japan to see the sakura blossoms, but you can’t afford it anytime soon, Gardens By The Bay have something very special for you this March! Sakura Matsuri Floral Display will be happening from the 9th to 31st March 2019 at Flower Dome. You will get to see beautiful sakuras in every corner. Unfortunately, admission charges for Flower Dome still apply.
Try Out Japanese Street Food At Nippon Street
Of course, that’s not all! From the 9th to 17th March 2019, there will be Nippon Street. In this event, you will have the opportunity to taste Japanese street food. Be excited ’cause it is going to be decorated in retro Japan style. Play the part by renting yourself a Yukata! That’s not all! You also get to try out different traditional Japanese games.
There will also be Ohanami Street, and it will be completely different as compared to Nippon Street. At Ohanami Street, you will get to try out ingenious Japanese instant noodles, and also try out different types of sake at the sake station. Oh, there is a station for cosmetics too! Take some time to head here from Monday to Friday, as the admission is free. Charges apply over the weekends!
Learn More About Japanese Culture
There will be cultural programmes, too! So, if you are keen to learn more about their culture, you can’t miss this. Japanese Tea Ceremony will be happening on different dates throughout March. You can watch the Japanese Tea Ceremony in person! It is a ritual whereby they prepare and serve powdered green tea in the presence of guests. This will be happening on the 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th, and 31st of March.
Up to watch up some performances? There are so performances throughout the month, we don’t even know where to start. You can catch Sendai Suzume Odori Performance, Wadaiko (Japanese Drum) Performance, Koto & Erhu Performance, Japanese Folk Dance Performance, and many more! They are all happening on different dates, so check it out right here!
Ending The List With Anime Garden
On the 30th and 31st of March, Anime Garden will be happening. The Meadow will be transformed into an anime wonderland. The event will feature cosplayers, popular anisongs artists, Japanese pop culture performances, anime screenings, matsuri games, and also a Japanese-themed food bazaar. That’s a lot of things to absorb, right? Aren’t you excited already?
