The main attraction of the cafe is definitely the selection of Petit Gateau, with eight varieties to enjoy. Ranging from $8.50 to $11.50, be sure to head down early as the popular ones do get sold out fast. Popular choices include the Gentle Daisy ($8.50), Pomme ($11.50), Pebble ($9.50), with others like the Berry Ghurt ($9.50), Dark Chocolate Cleopatra ($12), Strawberry Fraise ($9),  and Salted Caramel Banana Rumba ($9) also available.

Gentle Daisy ($8.50)

Starting off with the Gentle Daisy, it is definitely one of the more visually aesthetic ones in the selection. Shaped like a daisy flower, it is made with vanilla bean cream, sweet corn, and almond frangipane, with a crumbly tart shell and a dollop of passionfruit on top. While some might find corn in desserts a controversial ingredient, the flavour is actually primarily savoury, making it really palatable.

The vanilla bean cream is incredibly buttery, making it an overall savoury dish. Adding a contrast of flavours is the passionfruit, giving tang and sweetness to the dish. While some might not be fans of sweet corn, the flavour is pretty mild, with its natural flavour being more prominent. Additionally, its crunchiness pairs well with the creaminess of the vanilla bean and the crumbliness of the shell. Reminiscent of a buttery baked corn biscuit, this unique dessert is certainly worth giving a try!

Pomme ($11.50)

Resembling a green apple, the Pomme is made with green apple mousse, apple compote, and Calvados caramel, encased with a chocolate shell. The shell is nice and crumbly while the mousse is creamy and blends well with the caramel, balancing out its tartness.

Tasting like an apple pie, the apple compote is crunchy and sweet, with notes of cinnamon and pairs nicely with the crispy base for a delightful contrast of textures. The compote however does overpower the mousse, making you only taste its creaminess, with a slight aftertaste of its flavour following after. Overall, it isn’t too heavy and it will definitely still satisfy all you apple pie lovers.

Pebble ($9.50)

Staying true to its name, the Pebble is crafted exactly like well… a pebble! Don’t worry, this dessert is extremely soft and creamy and not hard as rocks at all. For those who enjoy black sesame, this dessert will surely hit the spot. Once cut open, the beautiful black sesame oozes out, similar to a lava cake.

The black sesame mousse has the perfect amount of flavour and sweetness, ensuring it doesn’t get too jelak. With a sponge cake in the middle and a black sesame biscuit on the bottom, they add layers of flavour and texture that pair really well with the mousse.
