A new community centre that officially opened its doors over the weekend, One Punggol welcomed residents into its new space on October 9.
One-Stop Hub Opened On Oct 9
Designed as a one-stop hub offering a multitude of facilities for residents, including a multi-purpose hall, futsal court, and more, this community centre is a highly anticipated addition to the northeast region.
Residents can look forward to a variety of educational and fitness programmes which will afford them different recreational and leisure options.
Present at the opening ceremony were Senior Minister and Adviser to Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Teo Chee Hean and Minister for Culture, Community, and Youth Edwin Tong.
New CC Replaces Punggol Vista, Has Futsal Court & Multi-Purpose Hall
The upgraded centre will function as a central town hub, connecting citizens from all walks of life. Built to cater to the increasing number of residents in the area, the centre now offers a wide range of recreational spaces and gives residents access to numerous programmes and activities.
More communal spaces, such as barbecue pits, and dance and culinary studios, will also be available. Residents can bond with their fellow neighbours when they partake in community programmes.
Additionally, Punggol Green is a linear green park that connects residents from Punggol MRT Station to One Punggol.
Sports enthusiasts can check out the futsal court where sporting events are set to be held. Spanning a space of 12,000 square metres, the community centre also boasts a total of two fitness stations, two playgrounds and a cycling track to help sports lovers keep up with their daily exercise regime.
Singaporeans can now access more than 400 services from 20 government agencies, all under a single roof at ServiceSG Centre, which has already begun operating in the hub.
With more to come, the space will soon house Punggol’s first hawker centre, a childcare and senior care centre as well.
