Rojak, in Malay means “eclectic mix”. Whether to call it a local spin of salad or a fruit salad is up to you, but its addictive sauce and fresh ingredients make for a very mouth-watering experience! While there is an Indian version of Rojak, Hoover Rojak serves the Chinese version, which is different! You will find some unique ingredients in it such as jellyfish, century egg, and bunga kantan (torch ginger flower buds).

If you’re looking for a place to have piping hot fish head curry, head over to Muthu’s Curry! Their special (and secret) recipe is a unique blend of spices that only the current owners know of. So rest assured, you will definitely find that it has a taste like no other.

Chey Sua Carrot Cake only has white carrot cake, so if you’re #team black carrot cake, it’s time to try something new! Other than their distinct flat shape being different from other carrot cake stalls, they actually use carrots and not radish. Even their chilli is handmade!

Famous Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa has received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award 3 years in a row! If that’s not a good enough reason to make you want to visit it, I’m not sure what is. Laksa is definitely comfort food. It being paired with so many fresh and delicious ingredients just adds to the “wow” factor!

Who says this dish can only be eaten during Dumpling Festival? Sometimes you’ll just crave the sticky, indulgent goodness of Bak Chang, and what better place to have it other than Hoo Kee Bak Chang? They only use lean pork in their dumplings and the glutinous rice is very soft & nicely flavoured!

Are we wrong to say Fried Kway Teow is everyone’s guilty pleasure? Well then, do we have good news for you: both the black or white versions can be found at Lau Fu Zi’s Fried Kway Teow! Each bowl is cooked-to-order and fried individually. Their noodles are surprisingly not as oily as many other stalls, but if you prefer a stronger flavour, it is definitely recommended you get the black one!

However, you’ll find that just one bite of Eminent’s Frog Porridge will send you straight to food heaven! Bismillah Biryani is popular for their signature Chicken Dum Biryani. Cooking all ingredients on flow flame = “Dum”.  It is not your usual plate of orangey, oily Biryani (although that is also delicious), because the Chef strives to cook the least unhealthy meals possible.
