Attention all you foodies! The Michelin Guide Singapore 2022 has recently been released, with 67 Bib Gourmand locations ranging from restaurants, hawker stalls, and street food establishments for you to enjoy! Of these locations, 9 new establishments have recently joined in the reigns, comprising of five restaurants, three hawker stalls, and one street food establishment. Wondering who made the cut? 9 New Establishments With Michelin Bib Gourmand Status
Started in 1997, the Bib Gourmand category was created to recognise establishments that offer diners a value-for-money gourmet experience in Singapore. In total, this year’s Bib Gourmand locations comprises of 22 restaurants, 40 hawker centre stalls, and 5 street food establishments.
Five Newly Awarded RestaurantsÂ
Among the new restaurants, Cumi Bali serves authentic Indonesian cooking with homemade sauces made with a myriad of natural spices. From the brains behind Cloudstreet and Kotuwa comes Fool, a lively wine bar with a fascinating selection of snacks and small plates, showcasing precise execution and plating. As for One Prawn & Co at MacPherson Road, it is the go-to place for anyone craving a tasty bowl of Prawn Noodles! Not only that, you can mix and match any two types of ingredients and can also pair your prawn noodles with some ngoh hiang.
Formerly known as Man-man, Unagi Tei imports live eels all the way from Japan which are then char-grilled to perfection and doused in a secret sauce. They have also recently introduced an amazing grilled nodoguro sea perch to their menu. Lastly, we have Un-Yang-Kor-Dai, who has received a promotion to a Bib Gourmand this year. Specialising in Isan cuisine hailing from northeastern Thailand, popular items like their incredibly addictive Leng Zaab and the PenLaos Signature Chicken are just some of the dishes customers can’t get enough of!
Three Newly Awarded Hawker Stalls
First up of the new;y-appointed hawker stalls is Hai Nan Xing Zhou Beef Noodle, located at Kim Keat Palm Market & Food Centre in Toa Payoh. The stall is renowned for its blanched rice noodles tossed in their incredible gravy and noodles in a flavourful ox bone broth. Tucked away at Berseh Food Centre lies Kelantan Kway Chap · Pig Organ Soup, serving up tasty cuts of pork and offal with silk-smooth kway.
Lastly, located within the same hawker as well is Lixin Teochew Fishball Noodles. Known for their handmade fishballs, they have a beautiful QQ texture and go perfect with their noodles in chilli sauce and topped with crispy pork lard.
Newly Awarded Street Food Establishment
Ending off the list is the only street food establishment to be awarded the Bib Gourmand, Sing Lung HK Cheong Fun. The owner is a former dim sum chef at Crystal Jade, with years of experience in Cantonese cooking. He offers four variations of his chee cheong fun, with each silky-smooth rice noodle roll being made to order.
