Hey, fam! It’s going to June soon! What are you doing this upcoming weekend? Well, we have something really fun for the whole family. You can Make Your Own Bak Zhang At Wan Qing Dumpling Festival This June. It’s happening from the 1st to 2nd June 2019 with tons of activities for the whole family. By the way, it is free admission. Here are a bunch of activities you can look forward to!

Make Your Own Bak Zhang & Other Activities

1. “Be Your Own Cartoonist” Heritage Hunt

Let’s kickstart the list with a heritage hunt. In this activity, you can be a little cartoonist for a day and uncover the different occupations in the past. Yup, we are talking about occupations before technology kicks in. Navigate your way through a series of interactive activity stations with students from River Valley High School. No registration is necessary. However, you need to queue earlier to reserve a slot!

2. Make Your Own Bak Zhang

We know you’re here for this. Have you always wanted to know how to make your very own bak zhang? It’s tricky, but you will get the hang of it after this! Try your hands at making glutinous rice dumplings the traditional way at their hands-on station. There are also halal and vegetarian options while stocks last. By the way, it is totally free of charge!

3. Heritage Trails & Museum Tours

Go for a free tour of the Memorial Hall’s permanent galleries and learn more about Dr. Sun Yat Sen. Apart from that, you will also be learning about 1911 Revolution, or go through a journey of their popular Balestier Heritage Trail to uncover the history of the precinct. It’s time to learn more! 4. Free Craft Stations & Workshops

They had us at free. It is not a festival without different stations for you to check out. Here, you can unleash your artistic skills for free. Some of the craft booths and workshops include Draw & Sing Along Workshop, Rice Art Sensory Play, Dumpling Five Stones Workshop, Fun with Clay Art, and Chinese Tea Art Workshop! 5. Concert Under The Stars

After a day full of fun activities, you can sit back relax while watching a concert under the stars. It is a dynamic showcase of cultural and contemporary arts! Remember to grab a hammock, or bring a blanket from home. There are so many performances to look forward to including LED drums, Chinese dance, live music performances and more!
