Officially opened on February 6 this year, Makan Vegan’s Geylang Branch is Singapore’s first and only all-vegan coffee shop. Located along Geylang Rd, the brand’s first coffee shop venture has four food stalls and one drinks stall.
Makan Vegan At Geylang Is Singapore’s First All-Vegan Coffeeshop
Housed under one roof to provide diners with a dining experience complete with drinks and sharing dishes, Makan Vegan has plentiful food options. From rice to mala and wonton mee, the coffee shop has got something for every vegan and vegetarian.
Meatless “Chicken”, Mala And Wanton Mee Stalls
The Wanton Noodle ($4.50) is a dish that gets you more bang for your buck. Topped with meatless char siew and wrapper wantons, the generous serving of springy noodles is sure to fill you up! For those who simply can’t live without spice, you’ll be glad to know that there’s a vegan mala store here that allows you to choose from four different levels of spice.
Another must-try is the Roasted G’ken Rice ($5.80), a meat-free version of Singapore’s favourite hawker dish, chicken rice.
Drinks here are made with plant-based milk instead of dairy. Both traditional teh and kopi options, as well as bubble tea, are available.
