Known to be one of the oldest pork porridge stalls in Singapore, Johor Road Boon Kee Pork Porridge first started out as a simple pushcart along Johore Road in the 1950s. The popular stall is now run by second-generation owners and continues to serve up one of the best pork porridge in Singapore. Even to this day, they still maintain a loyal following of customers, with their porridge often being sold out by early afternoon.

Choose from four main ingredients you can mix and match with- Pork, Chicken, Sliced Fish, and Cuttlefish. Feel free to come up with your own combination of ingredients for the perfect bowl of congee to enjoy. Considering the stall name, however, you definitely can’t leave the stall without trying their signature pork porridge.

The Pork Porridge ($4) is served with thick and flavourful congee, with generous amounts of minced pork, pork slices, and pork liver for one tasty and heart-warming dish. The various pork ingredients are all well-cooked and do not have the overwhelming pork taste that not all stalls have managed to achieve! Be sure to add in a drizzle of soy sauce and a dash of pepper for an extra kick of flavour.

Besides your pork, the tasty dish also comes topped with an array of condiments like youtiao, chye poh, fried shallots, pork lard, and spring onions. Each ingredient elevates the dish with new dimensions of flavour and textures, making each bite simply incredible. For ultimate enjoyment, add both an egg and century egg for only $0.50 each. The extra layer of creaminess from the egg and the added oomph of flavour from the century egg elevates the dish to another level!
