Located at Tampines Round Market and Food Centre, House Of Dessert offer various old-school hot and cold desserts. From Tau Suan to a unique Watermelon dessert created by the elderly couple running the store, there is definitely something for everyone.

House of Dessert is popular for their Watermelon Ball ($2) – only available on Wednesdays! Do take note that this is a rather popular choice, so it can be sold out quickly.

Filled with watermelon pieces, coconut milk and corn bits, everything blended in so well. Despite using coconut milk, the dessert did not taste jelak. With the sweetness from the corn and watermelon, the coconut milk balances out the flavours of this lovely treat. It also does not taste very sweet so you don’t feel as guilty eating this dessert. For just $2, you can either choose to enjoy this treat with your friends or finish everything up yourself!

House of Dessert is also known for their Tau Suan ($1.80), with it almost running out when it was only 11am! Served with Youtiao bits, the tau suan is a dessert that will certainly hit the spot if you’re looking for a comforting dessert. The tau suan gives you a homely feeling and you can tell that a lot of hard work goes into it.

The sweetness of the tau suan goes well with the youtiao bits, and you get a taste of both sweet and slight savouriness from the youtiao. Everything balances out well and this is a classic must-have if you’re a fan of hot desserts. Their portions are also rather generous, so this treat will keep you full for sure.

Another popular dessert at House of Dessert is their Longan and White Fungus ($1.80). This is also for those of you out there who enjoy hot desserts. This dessert is on the sweeter side – with the added sweetness from the longans.

The white fungus also has a crunch, giving you an added texture when you dig into this dessert. The amount of longans and white fungus in this dessert is plenty, making it worth your buck. This hot dessert has a very traditional taste – so if you’re looking for such a dessert, this hits the spot.
