Golden Mile Food Centre Will Be Closed Temporarily For Renovations Starting Dec. 1

Hello friends! Hawker centres are the heart and soul of Singapore’s life. It is the one-stop center for people to buy a wide selection of food and market produce at affordable prices. And to ensure that we can keep on doing so for years to come, NEA decided to close a few hawker centers for renovation purposes. The Golden Mile Food Centre is also included in this plan.

Golden Mile Food Centre Temporarily Closing Starting From 1st Dec

As announced on the National Environment Agency (NEA) website, Golden Mile Food Centre, also known as the Beach Road Army Market, will be closing temporarily starting from 1st Dec 2020 – 28 Feb 2021. This plan was made to ensure that the market will receive proper cleaning, and Repairs and Redecoration (R&R) works. In the meantime, the hawkers will be taking a break as there is no suitable site for relocation.

Last Renovated In 2002

The renovation was originally scheduled for October 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic. The last time the market was closed for renovation was 18 years ago. For the comfort of patrons, ventilators and fans will be changed.
