This bakery is definitely unique. Unlike most bakery spots in Singapore, something about this location is very homely and welcoming. The venue also helps with that as this spot is surrounded by different homes and a warm community. It is a place where everyone knows everyone and you can’t help but smile at the friendly environment. You might even want to get involved yourself!

The staff are some of the most welcoming and kind individuals you can meet. We also noticed them exchanging greetings with everyone that enters- or passes by their bakery. They are even great people that aren’t buying anything! Their care for their local community adds to the warm character of the bakery. Also, you can enjoy the beautiful clouds as you snack on your baked treats!

Let’s start with a bang with Chu and Co signature Kopi Bomb ($7.00 for 3pcs). In addition to its flaky exterior, it also has a decadent and rich caramel inside. It also has a slight bitterness from the coffee. This item is reminiscent of a Cinnamon Roll, but with an added kick of coffee flavour! It is rich, creamy, flaky, buttery and extremely addictive. You can get three of these for just $7.00 which adds to its awesomeness!

Looking for something more savoury? Well, they have got you covered! Their Mushroom Ragu Bun ($6.50) has all that richness from the previous item but is savoury. The Ragu sauce is thick and creamy, perfectly seasoned with lots of pepper. You can taste the mushrooms inside that sauce. Speaking of which, the Portobello mushrooms are cut into generous chunks- giving a ‘meaty’ quality to the bun. And of course, the cheese. The parts of the cheese that melt onto the sides, turn into a nice and crunchy cheese crisp. This adds more texture and a cheesy bite.

Last but not least, the PB & J Danish ($6.00). Why settle for a plain peanut butter and jelly sandwich when you can get this flaky gem instead! This is a combination of a posh danish and a humble PB & J Sandwich. It has a sweet and flaky crust with a fluffy and buttery inside. However, the star of the show is the toppings. The jam is surprisingly balanced, with a hint of sweetness and some tartness as well. The peanut butter is creamy, and nutty and can get stuck on the roof of your mouth. You’ll one more after just one bite!
