Sad news for those living on the east side who are craving some quality hawker food. Several regulars have spotted a banner located in front of the hawker centre stating it will be closed from Aug 15 to Nov 14. While this is sad news, it is about time Changi Village Hawker Centre got a revamp. When the hawker centre reopens, people will flock to it to have a taste of the food once again!
Changi Village Hawker Centre Closed For 3 Months
Several Changi Village regulars have posted photos of a banner announcing the impending temporary closure of the Singapore Hikers Facebook page. The banner announced that the hawker centre would be closed for three months for repairs and redecoration. In response to customer inquiries, the East Coast Town Council spokesperson confirmed the hawker centre’s impending temporary closure.
The hawker centre, located at blocks 2 and 3 Changi Village Road, is famous for its nasi lemak, chicken chop hor fun, Commando dessert, and goreng pisang. The hawker centre is a popular stop for people leaving or arriving at the Tanah Merah ferry terminal, but also avid anglers and Commandos from the nearby Hendon Camp. It is one of the National Environment Agency’s 114 hawker centres in Singapore.
