Hello, friends! As the economy slowly picking up, we are seeing many new openings over the past few months. In recent news, the coffee scene has been booming with big brands such as % Arabica making a stronger mark in Singapore. This time around, it is all about meatballs (and furniture, of course). You wouldn’t want to miss this opening at Jem in Jurong!
IKEA Opening 3rd OutletÂ
Here’s to another exciting announcement. It was recently announced that IKEA will be opening another outlet in Singapore. Strategically located at Jem in Jurong, it is planned to open by next year. Announced on 6th October 2020, the latest outlet will be 6,500 square feet, comprising of three storeys in total. Currently, IKEA has two outlets in Singapore located at Tampines and Alexandra.
Despite the recent pandemic, it appears that the Swedish furniture giant did really well considering that it was selling online during the closures. By numbers, there were more than 525,000 online orders, resulting in $135 million. This year, IKEA’s e-commerce has doubled in comparison with 2019. For the latest outlet, IKEA has started recruiting workforces. It currently has 200 available positions for its branch at Jem.
Another Spot For Swedish Meatballs
Despite being labeled as a furniture giant, IKEA is well-regarded for its Swedish food offerings, especially its iconic Swedish meatballs.
