Looks like coffee lovers will soon be able to enjoy a taste of Tim Hortons in Singapore. Known for its coffee and doughnuts, it was recently announced on Nikkei Asia that the popular coffee chain will be expanding to Southeast Asia in April, with Singapore being one of its new key markets.
Tim Hortons Opening In Singapore This April
The recent news was announced by Japanese trading firm Marubeni Corporation as it signed an agreement with Tim Hortons‘ parent company, Restaurant Brands International.
Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Tim Hortons currently has over 5,600 outlets worldwide. Customers in Singapore can expect the “basic menu” that is being offered in Canada’s Tim Hortons, but there are also plans for a localised menu to suit the preferences of Singaporeans.
While there is currently no news on the opening date as well as the location of their new Singapore outlet, Marubeni Corporation has mentioned plans to start opening franchises in Singapore and Malaysia, beginning in April this year.
While there “With the upcoming expansion into Singapore, as well as Malaysia and Indonesia, Marubeni plans to open “hundreds” of new Tim Hortons outlets by 2033″, as stated by a Marubeni spokesperson.
With the opening of other global franchises like Cinnabon and Mister Donut, we are certain Tim Hortons will draw snaking long queues once it opens in April.
