Started by executive baker Elaine who left her corporate job two years ago, she enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo to pursue her dreams of opening her own bakery. After graduating, she worked in a French-Japanese bakery in Singapore before finally opening The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie. They have since expanded, with a second outlet located at Tanjong Katong.

Offering an amazing plethora of French pastries and bakes like croissants, brioches, kouign-amann, quiches, and baguettes, there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Also serving up viennoiseries which are their specialty, these baked goods are made from yeast-leavened dough which is then laminated.

For all you croissant lovers, the Classic Croissant ($4 is simply a must-try. It has everything you would want in the perfect croissant- crispy, fluffy, light, and airy, with incredible butteriness. Using French AOP butter, it is a European label that identifies good quality products, ensuring you’re enjoying only the best of ingredients.

Additionally, there is a touch of sweetness from the sprinkle of sugar on top, helping to cut through some of the saltiness from the butter. This a classic pastry that you can’t miss when you’re there!

If you’re looking for something on the sweeter side, the Pain au Chocolat ($4.80) is a good option. This sweet treat is seriously huge and incredibly crispy and flaky. Being really light and airy as well, it is also more savory compared to your classic croissant.

Using cacao berry chocolate, it gives a pleasantly sweet and chocolatey flavour that blends beautifully with the savouriness of the pastry. An amazing dessert alternative you can opt for to end your meal!

Last but not least is one of Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie’s most unique items, which is their Trio of C ($7.20). This pastry combines a cookie, cheesecake, and croissant to give you one tasty delight. The texture is similar to that of kouign-amann, with the soft cookie adding a contrast of chewiness to each bite.

Flavourwise, the sweetness of the cheesecake is balanced out by the savouriness of the croissant, making the flavours well-balanced. Additionally, the pastry is a lot denser compared to the croissant, making it more substantial if you’re looking for a filling snack.
