Jeong’s Jjajang Moves To Somerset, With New Menu Additions Featuring Jjinmandu, Kimchi-Jeon, Bosam And More!

For fans of the popular Korean stall, Jeong’s Jjajang, at Bukit Merah, you’ll be happy to know they have recently shifted to a more central location, at Killiney Road, a mere six minutes walk from Somerset MRT Station. Serving up tasty dishes like their Jjajangmyeon, Jjampong, and more, it looks like more people can enjoy a taste of these delights now!

Jeong’s Jjajang Moves To Somerset

Jeong’s Jjajang first started as a cloud kitchen concept at Tampines North in May 2021. Due to their immense popularity, they opened their first physical stall in June 2022. Run by Mr Jeong Jun Seong from Daegu, he was previously the head chef of the now-closed Hongjjajang at Tanjong Pagar and has over 20 years of experience working in Korean restaurants.

Besides his signature dishes – Jjajangmyeon (from $11.99), Jjampong, and Tangsuyuk ($22.44), customers can also enjoy an array of other items including Kimchi Fried Rice, Kimchi Pancake, and Seafood Pancake. Additionally, the noodles of the Jjajangmyeon and Jjamppong are made from scratch and cooked upon order, ensuring customers enjoy only the best quality

New menu items include the Ganjjajangmyeon (from $20.79), a dry version of their Jjajangmyeon, a Vegan Jjajangmyeon (from $18.59), served with fried tofu and mushrooms, and the Jaengbanjja Jjajangmyeon ($36.19), which is an extra-large version.

For side dishes, new additions include their Jjinmandu ($14.74), which are steamed handmade dumplings, Kimchi-jeon ($22.99), and for meat lovers the Bosam (from $58.30), featuring mouth-watering pork shoulder served with kimchi and other banchan.

As they are currently still in their soft launch phase at Killiney Road, some of their new menu items are currently not available. As they are now located in the CBD, do expect an increase in prices, with their Jjampong now priced at $20.79, with an extra $4 to upsize. If you’re there for lunch, however, you can enjoy it for $18.59 instead.

If you’re heading down with a friend, the Seafood Jeangbanjjampong ($41.69) is perfect for sharing. For larger groups, you can also opt for the King Deunggalbi Jjampong (from $30.69), featuring additional ingredients like pork ribs, giving the broth a richer flavour.
