In some cases, not only the robots are the servers, they are the chefs as well. Here’s a piece of really fun news! You don’t need to go all the way to China to try it out. There’s an epic eatery in Frasers Tower with robotic chefs.
Hawker food cooked by robots? Interesting.
According to Mothership.sg, Jaromel Gee, the founder of Hawkee, watched videos of robotic restaurants. Instead of moving on to the next post, he had decided to open a robotic restaurant in Singapore. The robotic restaurant was an opportunity to support and sustain the hawker culture in the country. All the robots in the restaurant are made in Singapore, and it was engineered to ensure wok hei in every dishes.
The minimal robotic restaurant holds up to 90 people. The menu is pretty extensive with 18 dishes available. Some of the dishes are Hokkien Mee ($6), Char Koay Teow ($6), Seafood Fried Beehoon ($6.90), and Stir Fry Black Pepper Beef with Rice ($6.90). Additionally, you can also look forward to eating Mala Xiang Guo. The price is ranging from $8.90 to $18.90.
Are you curious about the taste?
“Hawkee” carries the meaning of curious in Hokkien. We are sure that the taste lives up to our expectations. It is a pretty great spot for lunch breaks as it only takes five minutes to cook a dish. So, if you have the time, go ahead and try out one of the latest hawker spots. It is going to be an experience like no other. After all, dishes are being cooked by robots!
