The Char Kway Teow ($3.50) delivers a good blend of sweet and savoury. With the addition of the sweet dark sauce, it leans slightly more on the sweeter side. The noodles have a good kick of spice and the noodles don’t clump together despite them not being too oily. The dish however could use a little more wok hei for a contrast of smokiness and for an added oomph. to the dish.

Served with lup cheong, eggs, fishcakes, and mini cockles, they each add delightful layers of flavour and textures. Furthermore, the crispy pork lard gives a beautiful crunch and umami to the noodles. Even though the portion of some ingredients aren’t the most generous, there isn’t much to complain about considering the price point.
