Run by a father-and-son duo, Flourful Delight is a hidden gem known for its freshly-made dumplings and tasty noodles. Offering a variety of dishes, enjoy classic noodles like Zha Jiang Mian ($4.50), Braised Beef ($5.50) and Braised Pork Ribs ($5) Noodles and handmade dumplings ranging from their Xiao Long Bao ($5 for 4pcs) to Boiled ($5 for 6pcs/$6 for 10pcs) and Pan-Fried ($6 for 6pcs/$7 for 10pcs) Dumplings.

Dan Dan Mian ($4.50)

A hawker dish you don’t find very often, the Dan Dan Mian is served with peanut sauce, chilli oil, vinegar, minced pork, and chopped peanuts. Something we noticed is that the noodles are blanched in cold water after they are boiled which prevents them from being overcooked. This gives them the perfect springy and chewy texture.

Nutty and tangy, the mixture of the sauce is well-balanced and not overpowering, with the minced pork and peanuts adding flavour and texture to the noodles. Perfect for spice lovers, the chilli oil adds an incredible kick of heat that builds and lingers, yet you can’t help but go back for more! Served with a bowl of soup, it is light and tasty, helping to alleviate some of the spice well.

Wanton In Chilli Oil ($5)

Served with 9 to 10 plump wantons, this is definitely a value-for-money dish. The wantons have really smooth skin and a generous filling of minced pork that is well-seasoned. Instead of simply being doused in chilli oil, a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and chilli is used instead which is pretty unique. Additionally, it makes the dish feel less heavy and oily.

Served with a huge dollop of spicy chilli, you can simply add your desired amount to your wanton instead of mixing it all up, allowing you to adjust your level of heat. Each bite is greeted with an incredible burst of spice, savouriness, and tanginess, with a slight hint of sweetness to give a harmonious balance of flavours. Definitely a must-try dish!
