For fans of Madly Good, while their outlet at JCube has recently closed, you’ll be happy to know they also have another outlet at The Clementi Mall. Fret not all you Westies as you can still indulge in delectable French Toast like Nutella & Smores, exclusive to their Clementi outlet. Adding to their list of amazing desserts are their Classic French Crepes and Biscoff Croffle which you definitely must try!
Madly Good At The Clementi Mall
With the recent closure of JCube, Madly Good currently resides at The Clementi Mall which opened in May 2022. Renowned for their waffles and other sweet treats like their croffles and pancakes, they now serve up French Toast as well.
As their French Toast is made with Brioche Bread, it has a richer taste as compared to your typical normal toast. Their Clementi outlet features an open-space concept, with plenty of seats available to enjoy their scrumptious desserts and ice creams.
Nutella & Smores French Toast ($18.50)
The sinful dish is served with homemade Nutella sauce, chocolate balls, chocolate rasps, strawberries and marshmallows and a scoop of dark chocolate gelato. The brioche toast is incredibly soft and fluffy while being pretty dense, making it one filling dish. It is definitely recommended to share this dessert.
The savouriness of the toast helps to cut through the sweetness of the Nutella sauce, ensuring it doesn’t get too jelak. The tartness of the strawberries helps to balance out the sweetness as well. One thing to note however is that the sauce tastes more of chocolate than actual Nutella.
As for the marshmallows, they give a pleasantly chewy and fluffy texture as they are slightly melted which goes amazingly well with the toast. The chocolate sauce, however, tends to overpower the flavour of the marshmallow unless you get a substantial portion of it.
Not forgetting the dark chocolate gelato, it has the perfect balance of sweet and bitter and adds a delightful creaminess to the toast. Although it lacks the distinct Nutella flavour, it will definitely still satisfy all you chocolate lovers!
Scrumptious Crepes & Croffles To Enjoy!
Moving on to the Classic French Crepe ($12.50), it is slightly thicker than your usual crepe. Banana slices are folded into the crepe, giving an incredible creaminess to each bite! For textural contrast, the granola adds a pleasant crunch to the soft and chewy crepe.
Served with strawberries and bananas, they elevate the dish with their textures and sweetness. Additionally, the vanilla butter sauce served alongside adds an additional layer of sweetness and creaminess while cutting through the tartness of the fruits. Each bite is a delightful balance of flavours and textures that makes this dish simply delicious.
One dish you definitely must try is the Biscoff Croffle ($7.50). Unlike their JCube outlet, the croffle served here is in one large individual piece instead of smaller pieces of four. The texture of the croffle is to die for, having the crispy exterior of a waffle while having the delightful fluffiness of a croissant on the inside.
The savouriness of the croffle tastes reminiscent of a croissant as it has a slight butteriness to it. Balancing out the sweetness of the homemade speculoos sauce beautifully, the biscoff crumbs add a delightful layer of crunch as well.
